How it works
From the System Library: the 2/3 system's rescaled numbers, checked in this game's physics but not reviewed by a coach. They are exactly half the full 2/3 numbering, so they sit on its rails, halved.
The Turkish 2/3 system, long-short-long without side. Its original formula is Aim = (Start − 1.5 × Arrival) ÷ 2; the rescaled numbers fold the 1.5 and the halving into the scales, so the working is a plain subtraction: Aim = Start − Arrival.
The three scales step differently — the start 5 a diamond, the arrival 7.5 and the aim 10 — exactly half the No Side · 1.5 numbering's. The source's own example: start 15, arrival 15, aim 0, the corner.
Reading the numbers
Start On the near long rail, along the line the cue ball leaves the red on: 40 in the corner, 5 a diamond down to 5 at the seventh diamond.
Aim On the first cushion, the far long rail: 0 in the far corner, 10 a diamond back to 50 at the third diamond.
Arrival On the third cushion, back on the near long rail: 7.5 at the seventh diamond, 7.5 a diamond up to 45 at the second.
Step by step
- Choose the arrival: where on the third cushion the cue ball must land to make the second object ball.
- Read the start from the line the cue ball leaves the red on, traced back to the near long rail.
- Aim = Start − Arrival. Start 15 to arrive at 15 aims at the corner, 0; start 40 to arrive at 30 aims at 10.
- The new aim moves the line, so re-read the start and work it once more. Then add the table correction.
The stroke
No side, a touch of follow, level cue, medium speed.
