How it works
From the System Library: the source's numbers, checked in this game's physics but not reviewed by a coach.
The Plus system without side: the ball goes to the short rail ahead, comes off it onto the far long rail and on to the other short rail. Aim = Arrival − Start, as in every Plus.
No side does not mean the centre of the ball: the source asks for a high tip, a level cue and a soft stroke, and the numbers only hold with that stroke.
Reading the numbers
Start On the long rail behind the cue ball, along the line it leaves the red on: 80 in the corner, 10 a diamond down to 40 at the fourth diamond.
Aim On the first cushion, the short rail ahead: 80 at the middle diamond, 50 at the next, 20 in the far corner — 30 a diamond.
Arrival On the third cushion, the other short rail: 90 half a diamond from the near corner, 100 at the first diamond, then 20 a diamond up to 160 in the far corner.
Step by step
- Choose the arrival on the far short rail: where the cue ball must come to make the second object ball.
- Read the start from the line the cue ball leaves the red on, traced back to the long rail behind it.
- Aim = Arrival − Start. Arrive at 100 from start 50: aim at 50.
- Re-read the start along the new line, work it once more, then add the table correction.
The stroke
No side, a high tip, level cue and a soft stroke.
